Instructional objective(s): What historical events have repeated over the course of the United States History? Students will review historical events to analyze what could be done to prevent future conflict.
World War I to prevent World War II
Great Depression to prevent the current recession
Discrimination during the 1800’s to present.
Students will create a Podcast by collaborating with their fellow group members.
ACTION
Before-class preparation: Teacher will complete the following... *Provide a list of topics to cover. *Provide some ideas and examples to enhance the student comprehension. *Provide the description of a podcast. (Note: student cancreate another form of media) *Provide students with the proper way to research such topics

Students will begin collecting data of the information based on their own knowledge

Notes: Students will be grouped based on their comprehension level.For example, struggling students will be assisted by higher-order thinking students. Students will be grouped in 4-5 members.
MONITOR
Ongoing assessment(s):
At the end of each day the students will end the class period with a summary of their findings. The teacher will also be monitoring and taking note of the students’ ability to work with classmates.Furthermore, the students will answer questions that will assist them in their research aspect provided by the teacher. The teacher will also design do now questions based help assess their progress. The students will be required to keep a personal jounral where they make note of the day's progress. (It will only be visable to the teacher)
Accommodations and extensions:
Students will ISP will meet individually with the teacher during in class time to assess their progress.The teacher will utilize this time to make accommodations and to help keep them on task.
Backup plan:
Students will be required to save a copy of the resources by copying and pasting material into a Word Document. If students have difficulty with Podcast they will be able to create Power Point Presentations.
EVALUATE AND EXTEND

Students will be grade on their projects as a group as well as individual grades based on the work they contributed.Grading will be based on a Rubric.

They will also include any difficulties they have come upon and how they were about to overcome them. The students will also provide the teacher with portions of their digital story which will allow for teacher to provide assists and comments. Accommodations and extensions: Students will ISP will meet individually with the teacher during in class time to assess their progress.The teacher will utilize this time to make accommodations and to help keep them on task. Backup plan: If problems arise with the computers and or server the students will work on the projects the traditional way (notebook and pen)and add to their project later on. In addition, the teacher will use other technology tools if the students struggle with video cameras.
EVALUATE AND EXTEND
Lesson reflections and notes: The students will each present their digital story to the class. Throughout the presentations the students who are observing will answer questions provided by the teacher. The students will also write a reflection about the overall perspective of the project.
